Goodbye Sam, Hello Ed

After jumping 59 frames in four weeks, we have a new #1 on the TMN Hot 100 this week, Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’. It’s displaced Sam Smith’s ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’ which falls to #3. Overall, Sheeran’s four Divide singles (‘Castle On The Hill’, ‘Shape Of You’, ‘Galway Girl’ and ‘Perfect’) have spent 10 weeks at the top of the chart since ‘Castle’ hit #1 in January - that’s a quarter of the year so far!

Kita Alexander checks into the Hot 100

If you’ve been listening to Nova lately, you might have heard the sounds of Kita Alexander’s ‘Hotel’. With a #52 debut on the Hot 100 this week, the Port Macquarie-bred singer lands one spot below ‘Taylor Swift’s ‘Gorgeous’. Previously, Alexander had a hard time scraping into the Hot 100. Her track ‘Like You Want To’ made it as far as #98.

Peking Duk is letting no one down

The Aussie duo’s latest effort ‘Let You Down’ ft. Icona Pop is going swimmingly at commercial. The track’s spin count increased by 175% this week, landing the boys at #12 from #49. ‘Let You Down’ is now Peking Duk’s fourth most successful single on chart and brings them up to #1 spot on the Australian Chart this week.

It’s three straight for Khalid

The reservice of ‘Young, Dumb & Broke’ to Australian radio has worked wonders for Khalid. With three consecutive green arrows, the track is peaking at #17 after 16 weeks floating in the 20s and 30s. It’s also creeping up the ARIA Singles Chart at #7 and has been certified Platinum in the country.
