Q3 followed the pattern established by Q1 and Q2 in 2017 with Universal Music Australia (UMA) retaining the highest share of the TMN Hot 100.
With singles like Shawn Mendes’ ‘There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back’ doing the rounds on commercial radio, as well as strong airplay from EMI artists Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Jonas Blue, UMA posted a 40.75% share of the Hot 100 and 43.05% of the top 40 frames.
In fact, the top four singles of the quarter belong to UMA with the rest of the Top 10 going to Sony (SME) with three and Warner (WMA) with one.
WMA did post a notable increase in market share in Q3 thanks to contributions by Rita Ora and Charlie Puth, and the long-awaited return of Macklemore.
