Sony Music Entertainment - 15.5 weeks

With 15.5 crowns, Sony had more Most Added wins in 2017 than any other label (the .5 being a 50/50 split on Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect Duet’ with Beyonce). Sony was off to a flyer with nine #1 Most Added weeks in the first half of 2017. Highlights include Stargate’s team-up with P!NK and Sia on ‘Waterfall’, a born-again Miley Cyrus on ‘Malibu’, and DJ Khaled’s Rihanna feature ‘Wild Thoughts’.
Kesha (‘Praying’), P!NK (‘What About Us’) and One Direction signees Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson continued the party, adding four more crowns in the space of six weeks during the second half of the year.
Warner Music Australia - 15 weeks

Heading into the last quarter of 2017, Warner artists had worked up eight Most Added crowns. A fine tally for the year, no one expected the label to stage a gigantic push in the final stretch. 4.5 of the last six weeks belonged to Warner as David Guetta & Afrojack, Bebe Rexha, Bruno Mars and Morgan Evans dominated radio additions to take the label’s overall tally to 15 weeks.
Ed Sheeran’s ‘Castle On The Hill’ beat out duel single ‘Shape Of You’ in the first week of radio reporting to earn the label’s first crown of 2017. Aussie hip hop artist Illy got some deserved commercial love with ‘You Say When’ ft. Marko Penn the following month, as did Clean Bandit’s ‘Rockabye’ follow-up ‘Symphony’ ft. Zara Larsson.

Universal Music Australia - 11.5 weeks

It was a lean start to the year for Universal, managing just two Most Added titles in the first quarter (Alessia Cara’s ‘How Far I’ll Go’, Lorde’s ‘Green Light’). 2017 picked up quickly, however, with a key victory coming in late May when Selena Gomez’s ‘Bad Liar’ was favoured at commercial over the marauding ‘Strip That Down’ by Liam Payne.
Universal had a purple patch in August and September, taking out three consecutive Most Added crowns. Justin Bieber & Bloodpop’s ’Friends’ passed the baton to Taylor Swift the following week with ‘Look What You Made Me Do’. UK rock legends U2’s ended Universal’s three week reign care of lead cut ‘You’re The Best Thing About Me’.
