Sydney band 5 Seconds Of Summer are currently sitting at the top of the UK iTunes Singles charts, suggesting a strong possibility of a #1 debut on the OCC (Official Charts Company) charts this coming Sunday.
She Looks So Perfect, the band’s international debut single is at #1 in the UK, as well as in Sweden and Ireland, while the EP sits at #1 on the Albums chart in 12 countries: Australia, UK, Germany, Austria, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, The Netherlands, Sweden and New Zealand (and at #12 in the US).
A representation from EMI Australia told TMN the band are currently in the Top 10 in a staggering 83 territories.
While the EP seems to be classified as an album on the iTunes chart, its slight running time will disqualify it for a placing on many of these countries’ official charts - not that we imagine the band will be complaining too heavily.
The band recently sold out a 10-date US tour of 2000-seaters in under five minutes, which kicks off early next month, after which they will join One Direction on their 21-date US tour.
