Australians continue to feature on the global live scene with the announcement of live music bible Pollstar’s annual awards nominees.

The awards are held on February 21 in Nashville, and the nominees were selected by 216 promoters, agents, managers and other touring professionals.

5 Seconds of Summer are contenders for Best New Touring Artist against Bastille, Lorde, Sam Smith, Brantley Gilbert, Hozier and Kacey Musgraves.

Bluesfest in Byron Bay is up for International Music Festival against the UK’s Glastonbury and Isle of Wight, Brazil’s Lollapalooza, Switzerland’s Paléo Festival Nyon, Spain’s Primavera Sound and Belgium’s Rock Werchter and Tomorrowland.

Bluesfest Director, Peter Noble said: "There are so many amazing Festivals all over the world these days, and to be nominated once was great, twice was amazing... and now three times in consecutive years... we are both honored and humbled by this announcement."

Michael Chugg of Chugg Entertainment, Michael Coppel of Live Nation Australasia and Michael Harrison of Frontier Touring are included in the International Promoter of the Year list.

The list includes power brokers as Barrie Marshall of Marshall Arts, Herman Schueremans of Live Nation Belgium, John Giddings of Solo Agency, Rob Trommelen of Mojo Concerts and Simon Moran of SJM Concerts.
