5SOS, Sheppard, nominated for Radio Disney Music Awards

5 Seconds of Summer and Sheppard are among those nominated for next month’s Radio Disney Music Awards in America.

5 Seconds of Summer are up for They're The One – Best Music Group alongside One Direction and Fifth Harmony.

Sheppard’s Geronimo appears in the That's My Jam – Best Song to Rock Out to With Your BFF category. It is contending with Bea Miller’s Young Blood and Echosmith’s Cool Kids.

Taylor Swift, Meghan Trainor and Ariana Grande vie for Best Female Artist, and Ed Sheeran, Nick Jonas and Pharrell Williams for Best Male Artist.

The winner of The Bestest – Song of the Year will be picked from Grande’s Problem (featuring Iggy Azalea), Swift’s Shake It Off and Trainor’s All About That Bass.

Other categories cover the best crush songs, the act with the fiercest fans, catchiest new song, best song to make you smile, most talked about artist (on social media), best songs to dance to, best break up song, artist with the best style and best collaboration.

The family friendly awards are held on Sunday, April 25, at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live. It will be screened as a 90-minute special to air on the Disney Channel the next day in America. The Disney Channel Australia site does not have a date for the Australian screening but confirms, “Coming soon”.
