The Adele Live in New York City special drew 830,000 metro viewers overnight. It ranked ninth top show of the night.

It was a double bonanza for the Nine Network, as the second episode of The Voice rose slightly up on launch figures to draw 1.409 million metro viewers. Nine says The Voice would have reached 2.3 million with regional viewers factored in.

The Voice topped the night again, pulling the highest scores in the 18-49 and 25-54 age groups.

The 13-song Adele Live in New York City, directed by Beth McCarthy-Miller and hosted by Jimmy Fallon, was shot at Radio City Music Hall during a one-night-only appearance late last year..

Its US airing on the NBC network on December 14 averaged 11.3 million viewers. It had the highest rating in the 18 to 39 age group for a prime-time concert special since The Eagles’ 2005 Farewell Tour. An extended version with four more songs was aired in the US recently.

Last night’s The Voice saw 30-year old Jay Parrino, whose blind audition with a rendition of Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love proved unsuccessful, asked judge Delta Goodrem out on a date.

While her fellow-judges cheered him on, with Joel Madden stirring the pot further, “Now that, my friend, is something to walk away with!” Goodrem blushed and giggled, and later gave him a hug. “We have a date, right?” Parrino pushed his chance before he returned to the green room.

He later tweeted her, “When’s our date? Is it your shout seeing as you’re a multi platinum recording artist and all?”
