International superstars Afrojack and Axwell / Ingrosso will headline the inaugural Road To Ultra Australia.

It is held on February 24 at the 16,000 capacity Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne.

It will mark the Miami-based Ultra Music’s entry into its sixth continent. It has already confirmed a full scale return in 2019 in Melbourne and Sydney.

Axwell / Ingrosso posted overnight, “It’s been a while Australia!! Can’t wait to return to Melbourne.”

International support will come from Carnage, KSHMR and Andrew Rayel.

The Australian contingent includes Moe, Tigerlily, b2b, Mashd N Kutcher, Timmy Trumpet and Will Sparks.

Road to ULTRA events are smaller one-day single-stage events.

Organisers emphasise that, “Each event showcases cutting-edge stage production including A-list talent, world-class visuals, lighting, cryogenics and pyrotechnics.

Stage designs are developed by the Ultra Music Festival creative team and adapted to accommodate the requirements of both indoor and outdoor venues.

“The Road To Ultra Main Stage will be positioned underneath the Bowl’s canopy, with organisers set to build one of their most creative stage designs yet.”

This year, the Ultra Music Festival went on an expansion spree, with instant sell-outs in Mumbai and Mexico City.

Ultra Worldwide drew 1 million ravers through in 2017 over its 45 events (up from 23) across 20 countries and five continents.

The expansion saw Ultra draw a total of 1,028 artists and needing 10,000 staff.

The total number of festival event hours was 554.
