PRESS RELEASE:

The inaugural I LOVE LIVE MUSIC 60 second film competition opens for entries from 1 February 2016 with irresistible prizes on offer for filmmakers and musicians as part of the new national initiative to focus on the importance of Australian contemporary live music.

The Australian Music Industry Network (AMIN) has joined forces with the Live Music Office and the internationally accredited St Kilda Film Festival, presented by City of Port Phillip, to present, through the medium of a short film, a national awareness campaign about the importance of contemporary live music to the lives of everyday Australians.

Filmmakers, musicians and lovers of Australian film and music are encouraged to build this awareness by submitting a 60 second film into the competition.

St Kilda Film Festival Director Paul Harris says “The marriage of filmmakers and musicians is an important development in the evolution of both art forms. The St Kilda Film Festival’s SoundKILDA event on 26 May 2016 is the perfect platform to screen the ten finalists, alongside a stellar program of international and national music video clips.”

From the field of ten finalists, the overall winner will be announced on the night of SoundKILDA, Australia’s premiere music video competition, with over $12,000 worth of prizes to be awarded at a national level.

The I LOVE LIVE MUSIC 60 second film competition calls for filmmakers across Australia to collaborate with local home town musicians to make a 60 second film in any genre and any style that addresses at least one of the following themes:
