Andy Vincent, Universal Music Australia’s ex-Key Account Manager for Streaming, has joined Spotify as Label Relations Manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Working from the streaming service’s Sydney office, Vincent will take the lead on artist marketing campaigns, content, and Spotify artist initiatives, working closely with the region’s major and independent labels, as well as industry bodies and artist management firms.

Vincent replaces Rene Chambers, who has relocated to New York, and will report to Will Hope, Europe & AUNZ Label Relations Director, and Kate Vale, Managing Director Spotify Australia & New Zealand.

Prior to his role at Universal, where he worked across artist content strategies for Australia’s various streaming services, Vincent spent five years working at advertising, digital and PR agencies in London.

"In such an increasingly over-saturated streaming market, Andy's in-depth understanding of the marketplace, and the unique challenges and opportunities we face as a business will be invaluable," Kate Vale, Manager Director Spotify Australia & New Zealand told TMN. "2015 will be a defining year for Spotify."

“I’m very excited to join Spotify, especially in a region that has experienced astronomical growth since its launch some two-and-a-half years ago,” said Vincent in a statement. “2015 is set to be another great year for homegrown music and I look forward to working with our partners to help surface this great music to our millions of fans.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Andy to our team. He brings with him a great understanding of the local streaming market, and a huge passion for digital, artist marketing, and (most importantly) music,” added Will Hope, Spotify's London-based Label Relations Director.
