APRA AMCOS has set into place interim licensing schemes for tours, festivals and “promoted music events” to apply from January 1, 2015.
These rates will be used until discussions with live music association Live Performance Australia on new licensing arrangements are completed. They allow concert and festival promoters to go ahead with planning their events without any uncertainty.
Events between January 1 and June 30 and July 1 and December 31 next year will pay fees of 1.815%. The figure is 1.6335% for early payments.
In 2016, the fees rise to 1.925% and then to 2.035% the year after.
Dance parties will operate under the old scheme as APRA AMCOS and Live Performance Australia are still to reach agreement on a number of other terms.
The proposed new rate for regional multi-day festivals will not be increased until January 2016.
