Despite boasting seemingly growing numbers and becoming a staple calendar event for festival-goers since it’s inception in 2012, festival organisers Astral People have come to a decision to call off Sydney based festival OutsideIn.

Astral People bluntly shared the news of the festival’s cancellation on Facebook on Tuesday night, ushering in a considerable backlash from patrons.

OutsideIn was originally held at the Factory Theatre but later relocated to Manning Bar in 2014 in a bid to accommodate increased demand. The festival appeared to be gaining momentum in recent years, showcasing an effective model that aimed to promote local artists alongside international acts.

Artists that have appeared at the festival in the past include The Pharcyde, Seekae, Bilal and Kučka, offering an equitable diversity of Australian and international artists.

TMN has reached out to Astral People for comment.
