aussie promoter takes the battle to the game after axed tour

Tour Squad, the Sydney-based promoter behind the cancelled The Game tour of Australia and New Zealand, is keeping true to its word that it’s initiating legal action against the rapper and his manager Cash "Wack 100" Jones

This morning the company further hired a US publicist to coordinate a media campaign to get the word out to the American outlets.

“It’s going to get really ugly,” said Tour Squad Director Lui Spedaliere told TMN. “It’s become a matter of principle because I don’t intend to be walked over like this.”

According to Tour Squad, it did everything as stipulated in the contract, including paying a $100,000 advance and releasing more money upfront before schedule as requested by Jones.

In a letter of repudiation sent by the promoter’s lawyers to the artist and his manager – TMN has seen a copy as well as its delivery receipts – Tour Squad pointed out instances where the agreement had been violated.

Among them was that a list of information on the rapper and his entourage to be delivered by the June 16 deadline to process their visas for both countries.

Spedaliere told TMN she sent 28 reminder calls, texts and emails.

The letter also claimed The Game had not lived up to requirements to do his part to promote the tour.

This was to be through “social media platforms on a regular and reasonable basis in the lead-up to the tour” and to furnish videos announcing the tour as well as in the run-up to the dates this month.

Last week, while US lawyers and agents tried to sort out the issues, two posts went up on The Game’s Facebook page stating the tour was a fake and for fans not to buy tickets.

Tour Squad was caught so unawares with the first post, last Friday, that it told ticket holders “don’t panic” because it seemed that his Facebook had been hacked.

Since the tour’s cancellation, there have been no further updates on the situation on The Game’s Facebook page or a media statement on their side of the story.
