Mullumbimby’s Iggy Azalea has hit the top spot on the iTunes albums chart in the US and Canada.

The New Classic is also No.3 on iTunes in the UK, where it is also likely to at least debut at No.2 on the UK albums chart this weekend. The album will be released in Australia this Friday.

Azalea has been working the promo trail hard in the US this week, being interviewed and performing her single Fancy live on Good Morning America.

Rapper Azalea has been based in the US since 2011. She initially worked with rapper/producer TI, DJ Steve Aoki and Diplo, who was largely responsible for producing her breakout mixtape TrapGold which arrived last October.

Iggy received a massive boost after performing Blurred Lines with Robin Thicke at the MTV EMAs last year and opened for Beyonce on home turf during her 2013 tour.
