bigsound adds 100 new acts across 15 venues

PRESS RELEASE:

BIGSOUND has raised the bar, not only adding 100 new artists, but also a venue, bringing the event to FIFTEEN venues over two nights with the full 150 artists now confirmed for this September 9 and 10

The event welcomes the likes of A Breach of Silence, Tired Lion, The Belligerents, JOY, NGAIIRE, DARTS, cln, Fraser A. Gorman, Green Buzzard, Skegss and over ninety new additions to the program. They join already announced acts including Stonefield, Muscles, Gang of Youths, Holy Holy, Katy Steele, City Calm Down, Cosmic Psychos, The John Steel Singers and many more, creating the biggest, best and most diverse BIGSOUND lineup in its fourteen year history.

This year’s venues have also been unveiled as Black Bear Lodge, Brightside (two stages), Crowbar, Oh Hello (triple j Unearthed stage), Press Club, Ric’s Bar, The Elephant Hotel, The Foundry, The Flying Cock, The Zoo, Woolly Mammoth (two stages), The New Globe and one final mystery venue. Your BIGSOUND Live wristband gives you access across all fifteen stages over two nights as punters mingle with the world’s music industry to see the hottest underground acts that will be tomorrow’s household names. Previous years have been a breeding ground for internationally successful artists including Courtney Barnett, Flume, Seth Sentry and The Temper Trap. Which acts will be on everyone’s lips this year?

Two final chances to make the BIGSOUND Live line up for Brisbane, Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast based artists are still up for grabs via triple j Unearthed with entries closing August 2. For more info check out triplejunearthed.com

BIGSOUND Live tickets are on sale now at just $75 for two nights or $45 for a single night (ex BF). As a bonus, the first 800 BIGSOUND Live two-night ticket holders will also get access to the inaugural Official BIGSOUND closing night event at The Triffid on Friday September 11. Special rate tickets for the BIGSOUND industry conference which includes priority entry to BIGSOUND Live as well as three days of conference, exclusive industry parties and more are on sale now via www.bigsound.org.au - save $100 by registering before July 31 (full rate applies from August 1st). The BIGSOUND conference has already announced a range of industry speakers from around the globe including Midnight Oil front man and former politician Peter Garrett, Pitchfork editor Jessica Hopper and US rapper and activist Brother Ali
