bigsound live announces first 50 artists

PRESS RELEASE:

BIGSOUND has fast become the Southern Hemisphere’s premier festival of new music with decision-makers from around the world flying in to discover tomorrow’s new talent. Previous years have been a breeding ground for internationally successful artists including Courtney Barnett, Flume, Seth Sentry and The Temper Trap as Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley hosts 140 bands playing over two nights on September 9 and 10 in fourteen venues for tastemakers, industry and the general public in one of Australia’s most unique festival experiences.

This year BIGSOUND is proud to unveil a huge first announcement with Stonefield, Muscles, Gang of Youths (pictured), Holy Holy, Katy Steele, City Calm Down, Grenadiers, Ayla, Jesse Davidson, Cosmic Psychos, High Tension, The John Steel Singers, and many more.

The announcement reaches across the genre spectrum, from a mix of artists who are beginning to break overseas (some already hitting the stages at Glastonbury and SxSW and being hyped by the likes of NME and Pitchfork), through to those showcasing their wares for the first time on a national stage. BIGSOUND cements itself as one of the best value tickets in town, whether you want to find tomorrow’s stadium bands in a small bar, or catch Australia’s most talked about new live acts on BIGSOUND’s outdoor stages—and there’s still 100 amazing artists to be announced!

BIGSOUND Live tickets are on sale from Monday 22nd of June at just $75 for two nights or $45 for a single night (ex BF) with an exclusive pre-sale for 2014 ticket holders from June 19. As a bonus, the first 800 BIGSOUND Live two-night ticket holders will get access to the inaugural Official BIGSOUND closing night event at The Triffid on Friday September 11. Special rate tickets for the BIGSOUND industry conference which includes priority entry to BIGSOUND Live as well as three days of conference, exclusive industry parties and more are on sale now via www.bigsound.org.au. The BIGSOUND conference has already announced a range of industry speakers from around the globe including Midnight Oil front man and former politician Peter Garrett and US rapper and activist Brother Ali.

Stage and Screen is the Official Travel Partner for BIGSOUND 2015. As Australia’s leading entertainment travel specialist the Stage and Screen team are hard at work to negotiating fantastic accommodation rates for all attendees.
