Bondi Wave Music Industry Conference organisers have announced that this year’s event, taking place on May 16, will include keynote speeches and conversations with Mushroom Publishing’s Ian James and manager Cathy Oates (Angus and Julia Stone).

Bondi Wave has been organised by Lindy Morrison for 21 years. It forms part of the Bondi Wave music project, funded by Waverley Council.

Lindy says, ""The participants attending the Bondi Music conference hear from some of the most experienced and innovative people in the Australian music industry. The speakers expect to interact with the audience and meet people in the courtyard of the
Pavilion after they speak. Best of all this conference is free, it’s fun and a really cool event to be at."

The project provides songwriting/instrumental workshops to young people over the course of three months. Those in attendance are placed in bands and tutored by songwriters/musicians such as Lindy, Brendan Gallagher and Amanda Brown.

Roughly 300 people attend the free conference, held in the High Tide room at Bondi Beach Pavilion.
