The Recording Academy announced 25 new musical works to be added to the Grammy Hall of Fame. 

They include some of rock’s most iconic names include David Bowie, Prince, NWA, Elvis Presley, Beach Boys, Deep Purple, Nirvana, Jackson 5 Sly & The Family Stone, Rod Stewart as well as legends of their genres including blues diva Billie Holliday, jazz trumpeter Louis Armstrong, band leader Cab Calloway and country musician Merle Haggard.

The criteria is that the tracks or albums must be all at least 25 years old.

"The Grammy Hall Of Fame represents all genres of music, acknowledging the diversity of musical expression for which The Academy has become renowned," said The Recording Academy president and CEO Neil Portnow in a statement.

"Memorable and inspiring, these recordings are proudly added to our growing catalogue and are an integral part of our musical, social and cultural history."
