Brisbane band’s car broken into, thousands in gear stolen

Brisbane prog outfit Osaka Punch is currently supporting The Butterfly Effect around Australia, but on Saturday night in Perth they suffered a blow that’s thrown the rest of their tour dates into doubt.

The band explained in a Facebook post that around 9:30pm on Saturday night, their hire car was broken in to and vital gear was stolen, including most crucially a Fender Jazz bass guitar.

Osaka Punch shared an comprehensive list of all of items stolen, and implored fans to "keep an eye out" in the Perth and Fremantle for any of the items.

A gofundme page has already been created for the band, which at the time of writing had raised $2,400 of it’s $8,000 goal - with 33 people donating in the 19 hours since the campaign started.

"For anyone who knows these boys, they have absolute hearts of gold and put their blood, sweat and tears into entertaining us all, and including the cost of touring this is definitely a devastating setback for them," reads the campaign post.

"While we all hope some of their gear turns up, if you feel like you can spare some cash to help these boys recoup some of the heavy, heavy losses they’ve sustained in Fremantle - Make The Call and help Osaka Punch get this show back on the road!"

Osaka Punch’s original post has also been shared by their tour-mates The Butterfly Affect, who said "Please help our tour buddies in Osaka Punch get their gear back. If anyone knows anything or see’s any of the gear floating around, speak up."
