The recently-opened Foundry in Brisbane is closing temporarily.
A statement overnight from operators of the 300-capacity live music venue in Wickham Street relayed it will “take a temporary one to two month hiatus [to] work through technical issues that arose during the venue's launch.”
Bookers are rescheduling shows at other venues. An update about a relaunch is expected “as soon as possible.”
The former hostel (Prince Consort Backpackers) in Fortitude Valley opened its doors on March 6. Aside from the live space it features free accommodation for musicians, free rehearsal spaces and 20 creative studios.
It's business as usual for The Foundry Studios on level 3 of the building, with work almost completed for industry tenants to move in.
