bucks inks global deal with play records now represents early deadmau5 catalogue

PRESS RELEASE:

Bucks Music Group has announced a worldwide publishing agreement with Play Records Publishing, home of Canada’s biggest powerhouse Dance label Play Records, established in 1996 by Melleny Melody and Zachary Spider Brown Smith.

The deal will see Bucks representing over 1000 works worldwide, including number of works by Joel Zimmerman aka Deadmau5 including the ground-breaking single ‘Faxing Berlin’, ‘Vexillogy’ and ‘At Play’ albums. The catalogue also includes works by artists including: Mellefresh, Azari and III, Spekrfrks, Calvertron, Billy Newton-Davis, Sick Individuals, Kolombo, Federico Scavo, Mendo, Craziibizia, Lazy Rich.

In April 2014 Play Records moved their Toronto offices to the heart of King’s Cross where they have opened a 2,500ft, multi-room studio space and writing facility called Play Deep Studios, home to the UK’s only Otari series 54, 32 channel, analogue inline, fully automated, mixing desk.

Bucks Music Group A&R Manager Harri Davies said “Play have a solid catalogue of works of which we will now be able to clear all master and publishing rights as a one stop shop – we look forward to working with them”

Melleny Melody and Zachary Spider Brown Smith said “We’re looking forward to a long and prosperous collaborative, creative working relationship with Bucks”.
