Calibre Music Management (CLBR) has made some big moves, adding iconic Melbourne venue The Esplanade Hotel (The Espy) to its venue roster.

The St. Kilda venue joins CLBR's venue roster alongside another beloved Melbourne live music venue, The Night Cat. The group's co-founder Nathan Farrell, who relocated to Melbourne from Sydney two years ago, spoke about his excitement of representing the two venues.

"I love this city, it’s been fantastic to feel welcomed with open arms and I’m thrilled to be trusted with two of its iconic venues," Farrell said.

Adrian Leighton, CLBR's head of programming, stressed the importance of maintaining The Espy's reputation and legacy with the new signing.

“As someone in the fortunate position of having played the venue in the past, to now helping shape its future, the gravity of this appointment is not lost on me," he said.

"CLBR will strive to maintain The Espy’s revered reputation by seeking out and presenting the best national and international talent. Our aim is also to further build on this legacy through delivering a more diverse and contemporary line of programming that represents and reflects the unique character of The Espy and St Kilda."

Outside of the new venue signing, CLBR has also appointed two new roles, with Kit Atkinson as marketing manager and Maddy Herbert as marketing coordinator.

Atkinson, who previously worked with Live Nation, said she is glad to be joining the team at this time, especially considering the signing of The Espy.

“It gives me great pleasure to join the CLBR team, who have a fantastic reputation within the music and entertainment industry," Atkinson said.

"I look forward to contributing to their ongoing success and developing and implementing marketing strategies across the business in what is an incredibly exciting time, especially with the addition of the Espy to its impressive venue roster."
