The ACT Tourism Minister, Treasurer and Andrew Barr has said he will approach The Rolling Stones’ promoter Frontier Touring to include Canberra in the mooted October/November dates.

The ACT Government will not contribute funds to staging the show, hoped to be set on the Parliamentary lawns or the 25,000-capacity Canberra Stadium, despite the potential to draw international fans to the capital.

A request for comment was sent to Barr, a big Stones fan. Opposition Leader Jeremy Hanson scoffed, “The ACT Government should be focusing on delivering better local services, not organising a Rolling Stones concert.”
