changes afoot as triple j and double j announce 2018 programming

triple j and its digital sister station Double J have announced their new programming schedules for 2018.

New faces are set to feature, while some favourites are returning and others are swapping between the two stations.

triple j is set to lose its stalwart Mornings presented Zan Rowe to Double J. Stepping up to take her place is current Good Nights host Linda Marigliano who’ll in turn be replaced by weekend host Bridget Hustwaite in the evenings.

Also set to depart is Home & Hosed presenter Dom Alessio after eight years, to be replaced by Declan Byrne, while Hannah Reilly will depart from The Hook Up after two years as host.

A long-term favourite returns in the form of Alex Dyson, who’ll present lunch for the first part of 2018 until Gen Fricker is cast back into the slot by the return of Veronica Milsom.

Milsom will return from maternity leave to resume Drive with Lewis Hobba.

The station has also revealed that it will retain Breakfast presenters Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton.

On the Double J side of things Myf Warhurst is set to depart from her role as the host of Double J Lunch, and is set to take up a new role on ABC Local Radio.

"It was such an honour to be part of Double J right from the very beginning, with the bonus of being able to share some of the most lovingly and intelligently curated music you’ll hear anywhere in the world," said Warhurst.

While Warhurst will finish up after three and a half years, Double J will see a bunch of new presenters join their programming in the coming year.

As well as announcing yesterday that Zan Rowe will bring leave triple j to host Double J Mornings, other new programming highlights include You Am I‘s Tim Rogers‘s who will head up a new show called Liquid Lunch on Fridays at 2pm.

After seven years at triple j, Gemma Pike will begin presenting The J Files on Thursdays at 8pm, while Hau Latukefu is taking over Sky High on Fridays at 5pm.

In other changes, Tim Sheil takes on Arvos and Caz Tran will begin presenting Weekends.

Both triple j and Double J’s 2017 regular programming will finish up on Sun 17 Dec.

The full new programming lineup is available here for triple j and here for Double J.
