ARIA Singles
This week’s ARIA Singles chart sees an Australian act break a record. Que Sera by Justice Crew has stayed at #1 for nine weeks in a row, breaking the record for the longest time at #1 for an Australian act. The previous record holder was of course Gotye with Somebody That I Used To Know, which stayed at #1 for eight weeks. On top of this, Que Sera has now achieved triple Platinum in sales. At nine weeks at #1, the track sits at third place for the longest running #1 this decade, sharing the position with Roar by Katy Perry and Sexy And I Know It by LMFAO.
At #2 this week is Sia’s Chandelier, which is actually the high point it peaked at in April, where it sat for two weeks. At #3 is Nico & Vinz’s Am I Wrong which is benefiting from a recent performance on The Voice last week. Although The Madden Brothers have stayed at #4 for another week, their sales haven’t slowed down with the single reaching Gold certification.
ARIA Albums
At #1 this week is a debut from Sydney band 5 Seconds Of Summer who released their self-titled album last week. The #1 debut also sold enough in its first week to receive Gold certification. At #2 is a new debut from Hillsong; No Other Name becomes their seventeenth album to hit the Top 10.
In regards to movement this week, Ed Sheeran’s first album + has started to climb the charts again, no doubt due to the success of his recent release x. It jumped from #29 to #28. Mystery producer Zhu’s EP NightDay also moved eight spots up to #25 from #33.
