The Living End’s Chris Cheney, Grinspoon’s Phil Jamieson, Dami Im and Marcia Hines are among the performers announced for the 17th Helpmann Awards.

These are held on Monday July 24 at Capitol Theatre in Sydney. 

Cheney and Jamieson are joined by the cast of Green Day’s American Idiot to perform 21 Guns. Both were in the production’s Brisbane season.

Im is part of a performance of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical alongside its star Esther Hannaford.

The cabaret circus hit Velvet, based on New York’s Studio 54 and starring Hines, closes the night.

The awards, held on the set of Kinky Boots, with performances from other musicals including My Fair Lady with Reg Livermore, Kinky Boots, Disney’s Aladdin and The Book of Mormon

Jimmy Barnes is one of the evening’s hosts, alongside Queenie van de Zandt, Tim Draxl, Brooke Satchwell, Trevor Ashley, Garry Stewart, David McAllister, Stephen Page, Richard Mills, Emma Mathews, Lyndon Terracini, Deborah Hutton, Kate Mulvany and Charles Edwards.

Helpmanns’ Executive Producer, Jon Nicholls, said, “This is the largest group of performers we have ever had at the Helpmann Awards, it certainly promises to be the live performance industry’s night of nights.”

The Helpmanns will be broadcast live on Foxtel Arts and webcast free via www.foxtelarts.com.au.
