INXS manager Chris Murphy’s new Murphy Rights Management has struck its first global signing with Sydney-born Hollywood-based film composer Bryce Jacobs.

Jacobs joins Murphy’s roster as a songwriter and producer. After being mentored by award-winning Hollywood film composer and producer Hans Zimmer, he joined Zimmer’s Remote Control Productions. He has been part of the writing and production of many hit films, video games and television shows such as Clash of the Titans, Red Dawn, Medal of Honor, Need for Speed - Shift 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Flash Forward, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Ron Howard’s new Chris Hemsworth vehicle Rush and the upcoming Drive Hard. He also worked on blockbusters as Happy Feet, Jumper, Australia and P.S. I Love You.

As part of the new signing, MRM will shop Jacobs’ existing catalogue and new recordings for sync opportunities via MRM.

Murphy, who met Jacobs by chance in Hollywood, calls him “one of the most talented and innovative songwriters, arrangers and producers I’ve ever met.”

Jacobs returns to Sydney to get in the studio with MRM’s first signing Lepers & Crooks. He also designed a guitar based on the range and capabilities of a piano.
