The Church, Angus & Julia Stone, Ball Park Music and Courtney Barnett were among the 180 artists from around the world who have been announced in the first round of acts to showcase at South By Southwest in March.
Other Australian acts also chosen were Sydney’s Bloods, Newcastle duo The Gooch Palms and a contingent from Melbourne including The Twerps, Luluc and Demi Louise,
They join The Pop Group, Ben Kweller, Scott Weiland and The Wildabouts, Deers, Thee O Sees as well as names from every country including Pakistan, Argentina and Vietnam.
The Church will also feature on their own panel during the festival’s conference segment, doing a Question and Answer.
Jen Appel, CEO and Publicity Director of The Catalyst Publicity Group has also been added to a SXSW Panel. Discussing marketing tools for artists and best practices to get in front of labels, talent buyers and agents Appel joins joins the At Some Point You Are Going To Need A Team panel alongside Lou Plaia (ReverbNation), Eric McLellan (Sire Records/Warner Bros. Records ) and Greg Allen (APM Music).
