Commercial radio industry welcomes new Minister for Communications

The commercial radio industry today welcomed the appointment of Senator Mitch Fifield as Federal Minister for Communications.
 
Ms Joan Warner, chief executive officer of Commercial Radio Australia (CRA) said: “CRA congratulates Minister Fifield on his appointment and we look forward to working closely with him.” 
 
“Broadcast radio plays a vital role in metropolitan and regional areas with the provision of local news and local emergency services information, the commercial radio industry will work with Minister Fifield to ensure all Australians continue to have access to robust and reliable, free, live and local commercial radio," said Warner.
