Paul Piticco’s Create/Control has signed label partnerships with three influential American indie labels: Arts & Crafts, Vagrant and Innovative Leisure.

Arts & Crafts, based in Toronto, Canada, incorporates a record label, management, merchandiser and publisher. It is home to 40 acts including Feist, Broken Social Scene, Stars, Timber Timbre, Chilly Gonzales and Dan Mangan. It is releasing albums by Kevin Drew, Timber Timbre, Trust and The Darcys in 2014.

Los Angeles-based Vagrant has a roster of 30, recently releasing records in the US from Bombay Bicycle Club, The 1975, Active Child, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros.

Innovative Leisure, also headquartered in Los Angeles, handles Allah-Las, Crystal Antlers, Gossamer, Hanni El Khatib, Feeding People, Bass Drum of Death, Superhumanoids and Tijuana Panthers. Its 2014 release schedule includes Nosaj Thing, Nick Waterhouse, De Lux and BADBADNOTGOOD.

“It’s great to finally have Create/Control representing both direct signings and labels. 2014 looks very exciting from where we are standing,” commented Piticco, who set up Create/Control as a physical and digital company alongside his other companies Dew Process Recordings, Splendour In The Grass, Secret  Service and Secret Sounds Touring.

Create/Control was set up as a label that provided technology to give acts direct access to fans and have their own stores and analytics, delivers full service, and provide deals where artists controlled their releases, owned their copyright and got higher returns.

Its online platform, three years in the making, was launched two months ago at Brisbane’s BigSound.
