Double J will do a two-hour live broadcast from next weekend’s Bluesfest in Byron Bay.

It takes place on Friday March 30 from 5 pm on the Juke Joint stage.

It includes Jimmy Cliff’s exclusive set, as well as Michael Franti, All Our Exes Live in Texas, New Orleans folk blues Hurray for the Riff Raff, Benny Walker and the first ever Double J Australian Artist of the Year, Mia Dyson.

Double J mornings host Zan Rowe and ABC Gold Coast’s Nicole Dyer will interview the acts as well.

The broadcast will be live on Double J, and ABC Gold Coast, ABC Sunshine Coast and via the ABC listen app.

ABC Local Radio will also replay the show on Sunday April 1 from 7pm.

Not on the broadcast but also scheduled for the Friday are Ms Lauryn Hill, Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters, The Wailers, Gomez, Harts, Youssou Ndour, Eric Gales, Govt Mule and The Teskey Brothers.

Bluesfest revealed that the fastest selling day is Sunday, which this morning was at 90% capacity and expected to be sold out in days.

Sunday’s lineup includes Seal, John Butler Trio, Tash Sultana, Rag”N’Bone Man, Sheryl Crpw, Melissa Etheridge,  Mia Dyson, The Teskey Brothers, The Wailers and Yirrmal.
