Ed Sheeran played a gig for radio competition winners at Hanging Rock, in the Macedon Ranges in Victoria, last night. Sheeran is currently in Australia to play shows for two radio networks and is also set to appear on Seven’s Sunrise program.

Last night’s set before 80 people was for the Hit Network. As reported by TMN, he moved from Hit’s emblematic World Famous Rooftop to the top of another iconic Australian music venue.

Hanging Rock is a site which Sheeran’s tour promoter Frontier Touring’s chief Michael Gudinski has been developing over the years. The picturesque concert location has hosted numerous acts including Rod Stewart, Leonard Cohen and Bruce Springsteen.

Despite the rain, Sheeran put in an extended set and performed more songs than originally antipicated.

This morning, Sheeran turned up unannounced on the Em Rusciano Radio Show with Harley Breen on 104.1 2DAY FM.

He chatted about being an introvert, returning after a year’s break, and slammed social media as “shit”. He also opened up about his anxiety attacks when he is in a crowd -- and how he plans to combat that by building a house with a pub so people can come and see him perform there.

This week, Sheeran’s new singles Shape Of You and Castle On The Hill hold the top two spots on the ARIA Singles and Streaming Singles charts for a fourth straight week. Shape Of You is also #1 on the Artist Top 50 in the Australian Singles Report.
