One week from the start of his record breaking tour, Ed Sheeran has released more tickets into the marketplace, and announced more opening acts.
“Hitting seven cities for a whopping eighteen stadium shows, this will be the biggest concert tour in our region’s history,” Frontier Touring stated
Sydney this morning got an extra 4,500 general admission tickets while Perth had a fresh injection of 1,000 after his production team visited the sites and checked out the sight-lines.
The new tickets will go on sale on Monday February 26, from 12noon AEDTin Sydney and from 9am Perth time
Five new acts will join the tour.
They follow the previously announced Missy Higgins for Australia, Drax Project (Auckland) and Six60 (Dunedin).
* Joining Sheeran in Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane is be up and coming Sydney singer-songwriter and finger picking guitarist Fergus James. He was selected by Sheeran himself.

James hit an early career high when he had the chance to meet and perform for Justin Timberlake while studying at the Newtown High School of the Performing Arts.
Timberlake’s reaction to James’ original song ‘Snow’ went viral, accumulating close to 500,000 views on Facebook.
He’s spent the past twelve months collaborating with writers and producers including Pip Norman (Troye Sivan) and John Fortis (Ellie Goulding, Lana Del Ray) for a busy 2018.
* Opening all four Melbourne shows will be Bliss n Eso. Their most recent release Off The Grid debuted at the top of the ARIA chart – their third consecutive album to do so.
* No strangers to sharing the stage together, Irish singer Ryan McMullan will open the three Sydney shows.
Sheeran chose McMullan to support him on the European leg of The Divide Tour last year.
Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody hailed him as “one of the most exciting artists to come out of Northern Ireland, voice of an angel”.
* Wellington folk duo LOST BiRD will join Sheeran at all three of his Auckland shows. They are made up of Ali Whitton (guitar, vocals) and Oliver Vetter (violin, vocals).
* New Zealand singer-songwriter Mitch James opens for the three Dunedin shows.
The Auckland native moved to London at 17 and spent the following three years busking throughout the UK and Europe.
Moving south to Dunedin upon his return, he released two singles which have picked up nation-wide airplay.
