US singer-songwriter Eilen Jewell and her band will return to Australia in May and early June, Love Police Touring announced this morning.
On their first visit in two years, they’ll play seven club headliners after her previously announced appearance on Blues On Broadbeach on the Gold Coast.
May 17 to 20, with the likes of The Robert Cray Band, The Screaming Jets, Backsliders, Lloyd Spiegel and Jon Stevens.
The announced dates are:
May 23 – Thornbury Theatre, Melbourne (with Georgia State Line)
May 24 – Caravan Music Club, Melbourne (with Georgia State Line)
May 25 – Theatre Royale, Castlemaine (with Georgia State Line)

Hailing from Boise, Idaho, Jewell released her first album Boundary County in 2006.
Aside from her subsequent albums, she also released two with Boston’s gospel outfit Sacred Shakers.
On her current album Down Hearted Blues, out last September, she and husband and bandmate Jason Beek unearthed 12 vintage songs written or made famous by an array of artists including Willie Dixon, Memphis Minnie, Charles Sheffield and Betty James.
