facebooks launches new free sound collection as part of its facebook for creatives program

Facebook has added a brand new ‘sound collection’ to its online platform, which includes 1,000 free songs from lesser known artists from around the world.

The new collection was rolled out on last Friday December 8 as part of its new Facebook For Creators program.

Facebook says that the new collection has been established as part of their “broader commitment to providing video creators with the tools they need to grow on Facebook,” but what do the artists think about the project?

TMN reached out to several of the artists whose songs have been included in the program, with those who responded genuinely excited to being afforded the opportunity to get more exposure for their music.

“I think the project is great, it allows a wide variety of music to be showcased on Facebook,” said San Francisco composer Elevated Mind.

“It’s especially great for artists looking to reach a broad audience. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what creators do with the tracks and effects.

“I can picture someone messing around with the effects and finding out they love to manipulate audio. They could start producing or DJing after using it, which I think would be pretty cool.”

Brent Bourgeois, one of the coordinators of the project, also spoke highly of the new sound collection.

“I started as one of the initial writers almost two years ago, and now oversee and curate many of the writers and artists who are in the collection,” he said.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for musicians to express themselves in the most creative way they see fit, and I’m very proud to be part of it.”
