NSW’s boutique Festival of the Sun has enjoyed its fastest sell-out to date, with all 3,000 tickets bought in record time.
According to Promoter Scott Mesiti, 85% of the tickets went within weeks of the bill being announced in August, and that he expected the quick sell-out.
“We are overwhelmed with the response that Festival of the Sun has received this year," Mesiti posted on the festival’s Facebook page. “Thanks to everyone that purchased tickets to this year’s event. We promise to show you a real good time [..]pack your party pants!!”
Festival of the Sun is held December 13 and 14 with a Black Friday theme. Acts playing the festival – held at Sundowner Breakwall Tourist Park – include You Am I, The Rubens, The Basics, Ash Grunwald, Spit Syndicate, Kingswood, The Beards, Glass Towers and Tigertown.
A festival teaser is held in Sydney at Beach Road Hotel, Bondi, on November 30, with Tigertown, Gang of Brothers and Set Sail.
Mesiti also pointed out an increase in patrons staying longer before and after the main festival.
