Sydney-born producer Flume has (kind of) added another prize to his very full trophy case. ’Say It’, as reworked by US producer Illenium, took out Remix of The Year at the inaugural Electronic Music Awards in Los Angeles on Friday.
‘Say It’ beat out fellow nominees Medasin, Sasha, DJ Koze, NOTD, and Major Lazer to the crown. Since the single belongs to Flume, the 25-year-old gets the nod for the award by default.
Australia was well represented at the event with dance group RÜFÜS winning Live Act of the Year. Alison Wonderland took out New Artist of the Year – her first ever industry music award.
Fresh from releasing his sophomore album Awake, Illenium performed his new single ‘Crawl Outta Love’ and more live during the awards ceremony, which was broadcast live via Twitter under the hashtag #EMAwards.
Producers, DJs, and industry professionals joined together to celebrate the genre with the very first awards show exclusively for electronic music.

Friday’s honour adds to Flume’s most recent haul at the 2016 ARIA Awards. He took home an unrivaled eight awards including Producer of the Year and Album of the Year for Skin.
As if the EMAs weren’t enough, Flume was busy over the weekend headlining the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas beside a host of big names including Niall Horan, P!NK, Miley Cyrus and Khalid.
