Melbourne-based alt-folk artist Mcrobin has resurfaced after a year on the sidelines with his sophomore EP Shallow Diver out today.

The singer-songwriter has undoubtedly progressed to produce a more refined sound evident on the EP’s first single Concrete Feet, which explores thematic elements of disconnect and numbness.

“The songs came from a realisation I made that I have a relatively low emotional awareness; feeling like my ability to experience and express my emotions was really limited,” said Mcrobin.

To launch the new EP, Mcrobin and his band will be hosting a special live pop-up event on December 4 at Edinburgh Gardens Community Room. The show will be a Movember fundraiser with all proceeds from the event and 50% of CD sales on the day going to the foundation.

To further celebrate the release of Shallow Diver, Mcrobin has compiled a playlist of his top 20 Aussie folkin’ favourites for TMN.
