PRESS RELEASE:

Australian-owned music streaming service, Guvera, today announced it will join with the Australian Open as official music streaming partner.

The Australian Open is one of the biggest events in Australia and attracts hundreds of thousands of tennis fans to Melbourne. This year, for the first time, Guvera will capture and share the music that powers the tournament.

In an Australian first, Guvera will treat fans to the music that inspires some of the world’s best players, with exclusive playlists from 16 of the most highly ranked players, giving music lovers an insight into the songs these highly tuned athletes listen to for relaxation or in preparation for their next big match. More on the players involved can be found here

Guvera will host the official music channel for the Australian Open, which kicks off on 18 January. The partnership continues Guvera’s focus on the Australian market and follows their sponsorship of the Nine Network’s The Voice in 2015.

Guvera CEO Darren Herft said: “As an Australian company, partnering with one of Australia’s largest annual sporting events is a natural fit. We will be giving music fans unprecedented access to the tennis through a shared love of music, and that’s something we are really excited about.”

“Guvera has experienced strong growth in Australia over the past year with a 500% increase in local users. We know Australians are extremely receptive to easily accessible and affordable entertainment and we hope that Guvera’s partnership with the Australian Open will only further our growth.”
