PRESS RELEASE:

The A&R Dept & Offtime Production, along with Dew Process and UMA, have announced today that they are teaming up together to release the work of Melbourne funk, soul and rock virtuoso Harts.

We challenge you to find a more talented artist in the country, let alone on the planet. Darren Harts is a master of vocals, guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and production, so much so that he was anointed by the late, great Prince himself as an artist in his own image, and with whom he spent time jamming with at his Paisley Park Studios in Minneapolis.

You can hear that influence, as well as those of other legends like Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrixand Queen in the staggering talent tattooed all over his current hit single, ‘Peculiar’, which has been flooding the triple j airwaves in recent months. A funkified dance floor jam, it’s been inspiring swagger fuelled struts everywhere since its release back in February.

Harts released his debut album Daydreamer to mass acclaim in 2014, followed by the stellar Breakthough EP in 2015. He has since been touring non-stop both locally and internationally, recently returning from a successful tour of the UK and Europe, plus a slot on Pink Pop Festival in the Netherlands. In Australia, his outstanding live reputation is already cemented, having wowed the audiences of Splendour In The Grass, Groovin’ The Moo, Byron Bay Bluesfest, and Falls Festival to name just a few.

The A&R Dept & Offtime Production have also expressed their excitement to be working with DP/UMA to release Harts’ music: “After seven years of building and developing the Harts brand independently, we felt it was the right time to partner up with Paul and the DP team! We’re pumped!!!”
