Hiatus Kaiyote selected as Rdio’s June Artist to Watch

Rdio Australia has announced neo-soul quartet, Hiatus Kaiyote, as its emerging Artist to Watch for June. The selection sees Rdio Australia further its ongoing commitment to championing up-and-coming local and international talent through its ongoing Artist to Watch initiative. Hand-picked by Rdio Australia, the Melbourne four-piece will also be championed by Rdio in the U.S and U.K. where they will gain additional exposure to global audiences.

After taking its monthly emerging artist spotlight to the next level last month by featuring Shamir as a global Artist to Watch, Rdio, now available in 85 countries, is excited to be rolling out Rdio-exclusive content from Hiatus Kaiyote, including personally curated playlists, throughout the month of June.

In just a few short years, Hiatus Kaiyote have embarked upon a musical odyssey that began in Melbourne’s bohemian scene and taken them as far as the prestigious Grammy Awards. Their sophomore album, Choose Your Weapon, that will be featured on Rdio’s homepage and social

channels in three key territories, is a 70 minute musical adventure –juxtaposing the acoustic and electronic, over 18 tracks. Their album honours the history of soul music while revelling in its experimentation.
