Hilltop Hoods headlining Darwin’s BASSINTHEGRASS

Hilltop Hoods will headline the 13h BASSINTHEGRASS festival in Darwin. It is held on Saturday May 23 at Darwin Amphitheatre.

The band played the venue last year as part of its ‘Cosby Sweater tour’, this time returning with a horn section.

Also playing are Birds of Tokyo, Flight Facilities, Illy, Sheppard, The Preatures, Thundamentals, Kingswood, Taylor Henderson and Kid Mac.

Nominations are open until April 1 for Northern Territory acts’ placing on the bill.

BASSINTHEGRASS was launched in 2003 by the Northern Territory Government through the Northern Territory Major Events Company. The idea was to draw major acts to the Northern Territory and showcase local acts.

Past headliners include Powderfinger, Silverchair, The Living End, Jet, Grinspoon, You Am I, 360, The Temper Trap, The Presets and The Amity Affliction.

Nearly 7,000 attended last year. A sister festival in Alice Springs launched with the Darwin event, and which draws about 1500, was later rebranded to BASSINTHEDUST.
