Queensland hip hop artist Tom Daley, aka I AM D, is the recipient of the 2014 Hilltop Hoods Initiative, netting $10,000 plus prizes from APRA AMCOS and the Hilltop Hoods.

MC Suffa of Hilltop Hoods said of this year’s competition: We were blown away by the amount of entrants this year. Congratulations to I AM D, the second Queenslander to take home the Initiative."

APRA AMCOS Head of Member Services, Dean Ormston adds: “When you’re in the early stages of releasing music, an opportunity like this is a crucial step in your career. We wish Tom all the best with his album and look forward to working with the Australian hip hop community again next year”.

The initiative was launched in 2005, and is open to emerging Australian-based hip hop artists who have not released an album commercially. Previous winner include Jimblah, Chelsea Jane, Koolta and Subsketch.
