International bands cancel Australian tours following Life Is Noise fallout

Two international acts have pulled out of their Australian tours following the firing of Australian promoter Dave Cutbush, the director of touring company Life Is Noise. Cutbush was let go following multiple reports of "unacceptable behaviour towards women."

US doom metal band Sleep and doom/folk singer-songwriter Chelsea Wolfe have cancelled their Australian shows, with an update on Wolves In The Throne Room coming soon from the promoter.

Life Is Noise posted the following announcement on Facebook:

Chelsea Wolfe released a statement explaining the cancellation, and touched on her own "share of bullshit from men in this industry".

Following Life Is Noise's original announcement on Facebook that Cutbush had been let go, the promoter himself released an apology. In a statement to Music Feeds, Cutbush said the #metoo and #meNOmore movements weighed “heavily” on his mind.

"It is true that in the past I have acted poorly and in a manner that is inappropriate and sleazy," he said in part. "Using my male privilege to gain sexual favours has been disrespectful towards women. I have used my position in the music industry to my advantage. I have propositioned women much younger than me and have behaved creepily in person at music events and online."
