INXS manager Chris Murphy has reformed his parents’ 55-year-old theatre company Mark Murphy & Associates for INXS – The Musical.

The debut production for Murphy Theatrical Group is set to open in late 2016, however it’s not known whether it will make its premiere in Australia, London or Las Vegas.

Murphy has set to work on the production with INXS band member Tim Farriss, who were both Executive Producers on Network Seven’s top-rating TV mini-series, INXS: Never Tear Us Apart.

Murphy said it had always been his plan to present INXS’ songs in a theatrical environment.

“My philosophy has always been that there is no better calling card than success, so taking our newly acquired exclusive INXS Musical rights to the world stages and making it a success is our clear policy and mandate,” Murphy said.

“As a live band, INXS has performed thousands of shows in every type of venue, all over the world,” added Farriss. “INXS music was born to be performed.  I am very excited to bring INXS' music to the theatrical stage in a way it never has. I want this to be a theatre experience that people will never forget.”
