James Reyne has cancelled shows in Queensland tonight and on Saturday “due to complications arising from a recent surgical procedure,” according to a statement.

Doctors advised him not to perform live “in the near future”. There were no details on the medial issue.

Reyne’s last show was for the Australian Open in Melbourne on Wednesday (January 17) performing songs from the Australian Crawl catalogue on the AO Live Stage.

Affected so far are shows on Friday night at Aussie World, Sunshine Coast and The Triffid, club Brisbane on Saturday night.

Refunds are being offered for both. Reyne offered his “sincerest apologies”.

No other dates are affected at this ppint.

These include his Twilight at Taronga shows in Sydney in mid-February, one of which is sold out, and the other close to.
