The Urban appearance comes as the New Zealand-born, Gold Coast-raised and US-based country music superstar this morning announced that his Graffiti U world tour extends to Australia in mid-summer.
Booked through TEG Dainty, the local run begins on January 23 at Newcastle’s Entertainment Centre, followed by January 25 and 26 at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena, 27 at Canberra’s GIO Stadium, then will head to Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre on January 31 and February 2 before concluding at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on February 5.
He will joined by Grammy-nominated Julia Michaels.
The world tour, which has commenced in the US, is Urban’s first visit to Australia in two years, and features a new two-hour concert production.

Says Urban, “This Graffiti U world tour is by far the most insane energy we’ve ever seen at our shows.
“I always love being able to bring the tour to Oz, but to also have Julia Michaels with us this time is incredible – and will be the first time we’ve ever toured together.
“The way the record has been embraced here too is extraordinary – so being able to bring those songs to life and have everyone singing them with us will be seriously awesome!”
New single My Wave (featuring Shy Carter) has a reggae infusion channelling Urban’s love for the Caribbean and features a classic line which he attributes to Australian actor Ben Mendelsohn, “You gotta watch out for the shine blockers.”
