London’s iconic Ministry of Sound nightclub is set to launch in Sydney on June 10.

Opening night will feature Peking Duk and US house identity Sandy Rivera/Kings of Tomorrow.

Sound Club Australia takes over the Ivy every Saturday night, features a brand new sound system and boasts “a clubbing experience like no other in Australia, carrying on the one rule for Ministry of Sound: The music comes first”.

"We’re very excited at the opening of a Ministry of Sound club in Sydney," said Ministry of Sound CEO Jonathan Bevan.

“It’s long been an ambition as our fanbase is so strong in Australia. ivy is a stunning venue and we’re looking forward to many amazing clubbing moments there."

“Ministry of Sound in London is a world-renowned venue and has been the destination for lovers of dance music for over 25 years," Tim McGee, CEO of Ministry of Sound Australia, added.

We are now going to bring that same experience and ethos to Sydney. We will be implementing a forward-thinking music policy and making Ministry of Sound Club a haven for good music and a home for both international and Australian artists to connect with their fans.

“Ministry of Sound Club will be the ultimate destination for true lovers of dance music.”

Ministry of Sound opened on September 21 1991, in a former derelict bus garage in south London.

It was the first UK superclub dedicated to dance music, and was inspired by New York’s Paradise Garage.

It remains a global mecca for EDM fans and recently set up its own gym within the club.
