Lorde’s long time collaborator and producer Joel Little took out Best Producer at last night’s Vodafone New Zealand Music Artisan Awards in Auckland.

The win was for his work on Broods’ sophomore album Conscious. He also took Best Engineer for the record.

Little, who is now based in Los Angeles working with acts such as Tove Lo, and Imagine Dragons, delivered his acceptance speech by video.

"We all worked really hard on this album, for many, many months,” he said. “We’re really proud of what we made so this means a lot. 

"I want to thank Broods, for working so hard to challenge themselves and try new things, which kind of forced me to become a better engineer, just to keep up with them."

Little took the Producer category in 2014 for Lorde’s debut global hit Pure Heroine.

Video producer Chris Lane triumphed in the Best Music Video for Out by Avalanche City.

Visual artist Anns Taylor took home the tui for Best Album Cover for her work on Lawrence Arabia’s Absolute Truth.

The inaugural awards ceremony marked the start of the Vodafone Music 2016 Awards season. The awards are held on November 17 at Auckland’s Vector Arena.
