Lorde’s song ’Royals’ from her 2013 debut album Pure Heroine has officially been certified Diamond in the US.
The single has now sold over 10 million units, an astounding feat given it was released only four years ago.
In addition, Lorde orginally released the track as a free download. It would go on to peak at #1 in the US, UK, New Zealand and #2 in Australia, as well as spending nine weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
’Royals’ earned the kiwi artist three Grammy nominations, while Pure Heroine also copped a nom for album of the year.
Lorde would go on to nab two Grammys for the track, with Song of the year and Best Pop Solo Vocal Performance.
’Royals’ joins only 15 other singles in US history to earn Diamond certification.
